Yeah, I could toss one of those on a cheap rig. Buying a sim that costs more than a real car is really the cause of my consternation.
I'm probably just gonna get a professional one that comes with a warranty and a few years of support. Probably... I want 'em to even come install it.
It's one of those things that I know I'm going to eventually do, but the concept of spending more on a sim than someone spends on their brand new car is the kicker.
I guess iRacing is pretty accurate, except for damage and things like tire wear. Their physics in inclement weather is also pretty shoddy. Or so I've read (from real racers who reviewed the games).
I would advise you to go test the thing out first
That was on my list when the pandemic hit. I'm already in contact with the makers of said pro sims. They don't usually sell to people, so they don't even have a storefront. I figured I'd also see how they were made while I was there, 'cause that'd be a fun way to spend the afternoon. They're not even all that far from where I hole up in Virginia.
That would be a really cool way to spend a day!
