I don't want to brace it too much, it still has to vibrate. So, the idea is to leave it floating on the top and then brace to the back - along with a brace that goes straight to the butt of the neck and opposite. So, the brace for the saddle would look like a + but all on the back. It'd float free, completely unattached to the top in any way.
interesting.
I think I am picturing what you mean.
You're thinking connecting it to the top would limit the vibrations?
Not thinking, knowing. I know it would. If we can move that vibration, the energy that is the sound, into the body of the guitar we can get a more rich and vibrant tone. Well, we should be able to. The physics works on paper. The soundhole would enlarged a little and reshaped so that it went back all the way to the saddle.
I didnt think about the hole but yeah you could move the hole right up to the bridge
I can. I can make it right around the goddamned bridge if I want. I can make the hole any goddamned shape I want!
Anyhow, the saddle itself is what needs to be affixed. The bridge around it, of course. The saddle is where the strings end their vibration and I want it to be firmly fixed. That fucker should have like no play in it.
one with the bridge in the center of the sound hole would be a mindfuck
