Yeah it is a shape that takes some getting used to. That's for sure

And "Melody Maker" is pretty much like buying the Ephiphone version - except usually shittier components like a single coil pickup. Gibson "Melody Maker" is like the Walmart equivalent of Gibsons. Which, I suppose, is why they were $300 at Best Buy.

They're not complete shit, but they're not the greatest. If you're spending $300 on a guitar, you can probably do better for your money - including Epiphone.
