I would have to try it out first, try several out
my son is telling me to tell you to come out of retirement and fix the left turn lanes and the traffic lights on the road here
We often made suggestions to improve the results, but we didn't design the roads all that much. We did employ traffic engineers, but usually they came to us with a plan and asked us to tell them how well that plan would actually work. We'd give them advice and sometimes they'd listen - making changes as needed, but they'd often look to optimize in other ways rather than rip out entire lanes or the likes.
he says the intersections suck, but i remember ten years ago they rebuilt them all and were planning roundabouts and the people complained so much they made them ridiculously shitty on purpose
Roundabout (rotaries) interchanges are fucking awesome. Depending on the circumstances, they even take less space.
Sadly, drivers are retarded.
In an ideal world, you wouldn't need a single stop sign/light. You'd only need yellow and yield signs. So much fuel is wasted by cars standing still unnecessarily.
But, drivers are fucking retarded. They pretty much all suck. American drivers are legitimately among the worst of the western developed countries. Our requirements to get a license are absurdly low and easy. Our penalties for driving offenses are laughable.
