Yeah, I didn't think it was necessarily open to the public, just those you know who have cars where their expertise will be of good uses
Correct. The guy restoring the 'Vette has a 40k budget, for example.
Amusingly, for 40k he could buy a pretty nice 'Vette. Still, he wants that one restored.
I belong to a number of private auto clubs. They're stoked that I have real automotive engineers. I can keep one project in the shop pretty much in perpetuity. We may expand to a couple of projects at a time because you sometimes have to juggle stuff, but there's still a ton of work for them to do on my stuff and the farm's stuff.
The goal is to have enough work for them to do 40 hour weeks for at least the next 6 months - always moving that 6 months forward as they move forward. I pay a lot of money to employ them, so keeping them busy is important to me.
That's a great way to do it. And you can have them prioritize your work while still making money on other peoples vehicles.
They have changing priorities depending on the needs. Like, right now they put their hours into the 'Vette more than anything else. They'll be working on that for maybe another 3 or 4 months. They even fabricated their own rotisserie.
