We have a lot of fears as humans.

The fear of loss is a seriously powerful force.

Sometimes we fear loss so much, especially after loss happens, that we run from any potential of being in that situation again. Sometimes this is a good thing, and sometimes it is not.

This drive can protect us from making poor decisions and repeating past failures. It can help us become more stable and discerning. Sometimes it causes us to push away from worthwhile endeavors out of fear of possible endings.

The hard part is seeing which way is right. Which path are you following, and why? Are you being smart, or simply fearful?

The only way to know is to talk about it. And sometimes, just the act of talking about it is all you need.

We have all experienced loss in some form. Some much more than others, but each person's loss is unique. If you would like to share your story I would like to hear it.

Lately I have been programming my mind that it need not be stereotypical "heart-break" but instead it can be your heart "broken open." Yes it is a loss, but sometimes cutting your losses is to great benefit. Doesn't mean I swing into the emotional aspects of it from time to time and flip out, just trying my best.

Thats all you can do, bud. It's the age old heart vs head dichotomy. Growing is learning how to control the heart with the head.
