Voat down starting Monday, still down today, Tuesday. This backup site was in a post, but apparently many people didn't bookmark it. When Voat comes back up, we need to MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT POAL.

Don't know much about how to run websites, but Apache sites have cPanel, and the web master can get access to their root to put DENY FROM commands in the .htaccess file to block problem IP addresses. Can be at the full IP level, blocking all 4 sections of the IP, or a shorter level, blocking 3, 2 or even all traffic coming from the 1st section. I've had to do this. Great Awakening started in the US, and if foreign countries are trashing it, if I were webmaster, I'd block all the IP's hitting it too hard and not worry about those other countries for now.

You can’t just “block countries” to avoid ddos. The server still has to process those requests to determine where they are coming from.

The actors are likely in the US or Europe, but buy botnets from dozens of countries
