"Everything we do before a pandemic will seem alarmist. Everything we do after will seem inadequate" -M. Leavitt

Just saw a patient transported from the site of possible #CoronaVirus outbreak in Washington. Their medical issue/condition unclear. A number of residents here have respiratory issues, including pneumonia. CDC investigating. More than 40 staff/residents being tested for #Covid19

No eye protection. No suits. China at least provided the world a basic roadmap for prevention and protection in healthcare settings. Americans should at least practice similar protocol to limit the spread of #COVID19

The first responders in this video are lacking appropriate protective gear for dealing with airborne infectious disease like #COVID19.

If this patient is infected, they have now been exposed.

As will be whomever they respond to after this and/or in this vehicle.

Hold on, why is that police officer??? (guy in the dark suit) not wearing any protective gear on him??? OMG he's just there watching. Why aren't the other doctors, wearing goggles and those suits the doctors wear in China, for example? IMHO, they need more protection

In contrast, this is how they proceed in Spain:

Mike Knoles Scientist for Senate

First US #COVID19 death confirmed in King County, Washington (state)

Iran and Italy are in full outbreak.

South Korea and Japan look like they're containing the virus well.

Keep your eye on France and Spain as new epidemic centers.
