I stopped eating "Fast food" in the early 2000's unless it was the only thing available and I couldn't get something simple.
I had a burger from McDicks a few years later. I felt like shit for a entire day. It was trash food, it tasted like cardboard.
If you just stop eating it for a few months you won't ever want it again.

It's definitely an addiction. Once you stop and get over the cravings it's pretty easy just to ignore it. Still crave Taco Bell sometimes on my way home from the gym though. Haven't broken a single time though.
