I have not checked but its easy enough. You can use a command line tool like exif viewer to read the metadata (and remove/edit it if you want).

I looked at the properties of my pictures and the only data there is like the size of the file and the name. I think I have everything else blocked unless there is someway of seeing it that I don't know about.
