The good news about that is those platforms' advertising scams will be ever more-likely to collapse
Yes and no. They are highly shakey, but unfortunately the lockdown is also driving normies to spend more and more time on their services.
which is funny to watch, because they depend on advertisers to act as compass and conscience.
I think that's overstated. When some brand pressures faceberg to ban the word faggot, it's not some independent monolithic organisation imposing policy on another one. It's one set of SJW entryists giving another set of SJW entryists the excuse they need to be petty tyrants. Wouldn't be surprised if it was organised in advance just so faceberg could say "ok, you twisted my arm, I'll censor more."
It's not about dictatorial morality. It's about facebook, reddit, and twitter taking all direction from their only customers, which are advertisers
If you think facebook, reddit and twitter weren't itching to crack down on wrongthink then you're seriously naive. The "sorry guys, advertisers made us do it" thing was just an excuse to the shareholders. Even if advertisers hadn't given a shit (and I'm guessing most didn't), they would have found some other way to make it happen.
Just look at the project veritas releases, it has nothing to do with keeping things clean for advertisers and everything to do with political suppression.
