The censorship machine is running on high. We still don't know the pilot's name. They are still trying to make us think the instructor was flying and was the commanding officer in the helicopter was not (woman was "co-pilot"). There is not clarity about the nature of the "training mission," which has also been called annual certification.

I'm guessing the instructor was their to document that the fully qualified pilot demonstrated the skills and knowledge imparted upon xer in training.

The article I read had her as the "co pilot" but she was in control of the aircraft. She was not the senior ranking officer.

The writing on this was needlessly complicated and confusing - probably by design.

My read of shit was - woman was pilot in command (the pilot or Captain if you will) - the pilot was fully qualified - the mission was like a recertification, so the instructor was there to observe application of skills, knowledge, procedure, etc. - woman was not co-pilot, but you also read that she was. Who knows.

This lack of clarity is obviously intentional.
