“Ultimately, the replacement of an electric car every five years with a new model, from the point of view of cumulative CO2 emissions and based on our calculations and simulations, will result in more CO2 emissions than the consistent use of an old combustion car for the remainder of the vehicle life cycle.” HaHaHaHa snork, gasp, HaHaHaHa!!!

My understanding is that modern gasoline-engine cars basically only emit CO2 and some water vapor. I could see the concern if cars still spewed lead and carbon monoxide into the air. Why are people so scared of carbon dioxide? Isn't it literally what plants crave?

[–] 1 pt

No, brawndo has what plants crave.

They release a little bit of NOx, carbon monoxide, unburnt hydrocarbons, and some particulate matter. Not enough to make a difference though. And doesn't even hold a candle to the emissions released by kikes flying on private jets everywhere.

I am still not over the part where human respiration is a source of a, "pollutant."

I am doing my part by driving an 18 y/o car that still runs perfectly. I will put my net CO2 up against any EV owner. If I really cared about that, I would keep driving my car anyway. I just like my car.

Right? Next thing they'll be trying us that human excrement is a "pollutant" too. Morons.

[–] 1 pt

But are they the morons or are the morons the ones who believe the constant incremental push over the edge to the destruction of their own bloodline? (e.g., the best thing you can do for the environment is not have children)

The amount of water released into the air from burning fossil fuels is in the billions of gallons, and it's "new" water that was in the form of hydrocarbons, so it's not recycled from the atmosphere or ocean. I predict massive drought if fossil fuels are banned. Especially here in california, where water is already scarce, but because kikes refuse to add new reservoirs

Who the fuck is replacing an electric car every 5 years that isn't doing the same with gas cars? This is just stupid. Of course replacing shit twice as often causes more pollution.

Battery packs need changed every 8 years and it's cheaper to throw the entire car in the bin than it is to replace the system.

lol.

There's actual ev graveyards filled with dud cars already.

On top of this, if you happen to have the skills to refurbish a Tesla on your own, they cut you off from the network and you no longer have the ability to quick charge the vehicle so there's not even a used car market for rebuilt EVs.

It's not often that you get to see someone be wrong twice in one sentence, but here it is.

The wife has a 2012 Prius Plug-in with 165,000 miles on it and the battery is still at 85%. There are so few (if any) reports of a Toyota battery failing outside of warranty that nobody knows how much it costs. In older Priuses the battery cost about $2,000 to replace. But, the price of gas can give us a clue. The batteries have a 150,000 mile warranty. In a 3,000 lb gas car you'd probably average around 30 mpg, or 5,000 gallons of gas to reach 150,000 miles. That's $10,000 of gas even at Trump prices. As long as the battery replacement is less than $10,000 you're cheaper than gas.

Teslas still have about 90% battery capacity after 100,000 miles.

You reek of being a useless faggot. If you're going to call someone out, at least do your fucking homework first.

Tesla are just about the only company to make good electric vehicles, which have a ridiculously good battery pack life.

Now why would I even take that into account when talking about battery pack renewal?

Answer: I wouldn't.

Cheap ass vehicles and second hand cheap ev's are a complete waste of money, and you're not even taking electricity costs into account.

Fuck off and die.

As soon as humans mastered making mass produced cheap cars that easily last half a century.... We replace them with a vehicle that is beyond economical repair after 8 years.

You can find these ev vehicles for sale online for a few thousand $. Mint condition cars with blown battery packs.

Ffs

Almost like we have been saying that for years.

Sounds like the author just shortened their life dramatically.

This info was partly known from the advent of EVs tbh.

It's all bullshit, we can't physically destroy this place even through "pollution". They already tried back in the day with operation fishbowl

Exactly. Lighting a barbecue in your bedroom on a cold winter night doesn't destroy anything. How could it be bad?
