I know a guy, that when I mention facts like this he, says that the "heat is hiding in the oceans". He elaborates it's like a glass of iced tea, where a lot of ice or just that last little fragment of the last cube, the temperature stays the same until that last bit is gone, after that the temperature skyrockets.
