Interdasting. So i left AU over a decade ago. When i left we were all 'hurr the water catchments at 18 percent we gunna die' when im overseas, i cop the first white christmas in uk for 30 years, and the next one was the coldest for 30 years. While im there, massive floods down my way repeatedly. I get back 80%+ in catchments.... but all the emergency powers all now law.... although rarely actually applied unless someones really pushing shit. Especially not against major irrigators. (not all, but the bad ones completely fuck up the benefits gained by actually conscienciously managing it instead of just turning on the taps and leaving them.) and guess who owns the ones that fuck up.... they got a red flag. I gotta wonder how much land those pricks own over the great basin, because if they fuck with that water, theres no way in the world to un poison millions of years worth of artesanal water.
