FUcking weather app for xfce is saying not below 30 tonight. Not sure if they are doing that to not give a heads up so people are caught with pants down or so they can say this is the recorded temp on this date like nasa changed the records to show global warming.

I remember the late 80's early 90's there was a period of over a 100 for 2 weeks for Alaska and over 3 weeks in the states with temperatures never below 90 in my area at night even.

It was like sitting in a kitchen with the oven on for over 3 weeks and sleeping was brutal. If it wasn't for cold beer and weed I would have never slept the entire time.

I remember the boss at work would not turn on the AC till the computer on the production equipment started to error causing loss of work materials and customer orders falling behind.

Sure the office was like 75 an icebox when you came off the shop floor but the shop was around a hundred. It came down to that until it affected profits he was all you can handle it and it got to the point where you stopped sweating because you became dehydrated in the afternoon.

Opening day of trout season is the last Saturday in April. I've fished the opening day for decades. On at least three of those days, there's been snow on the ground and the rod tips are freezing up. Yes, it is cold. No, it is not unusual for it to be cold in April during the low point in the eleven year solar sunspot cycle. Perfectly normal, in fact.

Opening day is two days away, and it is snowing here right now.

Opening day it's expected to be 14C... that's roughly 60 degrees for the metric inhibited.

Sunspot activity is now increasing again. That means the planet will be warming again in the years to come. Next winter should be somewhat milder as a result.

It's important to realize that accurate weather records don't actually go back that far. Kind of hard to spot legitimate anomalies in so small a data set.
