Socialist, diverse democracies as we know them are kind of a very new thing. And so far, they lowered fertility rates and got massive amounts of debt. I remain doubtful that they will grow as old as the holy roman empire. Or rome. Or the ottoman empire. Government and culture can drastically change in 50 years. Just imagine telling someone 50 years ago that we'd have transgender children. That we'd give them puberty blockers. Or that our music videos shown in public TV to everyone would basically be what they'd consider pornography. People back then were still familiar with sodomy laws, laws against anal and even oral sex. Fuck, even 20 years ago most would't have believed we'd officially give puberty blockers to healthy children. And you know what? It's very possible if someone told us what will happen in 20 years, neither of us would be able to believe or imagine it.
