A friend of mine died when hunting Elk in the BC Kootenay mountains by two Grizzlies. He was torn up but managed to crawl under a tree and bled to death. His hunting buddy was half eaten. He was struck so hard and fast his rifle was driven into the snow and he was planted face first. Apparently the Grizzlies hear a shot there they know an Elk has been shot and run to it, not away. They had to shoot both bears the next day as they would not leave the Elk that had bern shot even with a helicopter over them. I had nightmares for weeks afterwards. He had two small kids and was a very nice guy. Don't fuck with bears.
