I ran into that shit hiking in Oregon, right near where I wanted to set up camp. Ended up skipping that spot and hiked through with 22 miles on that segment.
The bigger fear is trying to figure out if it was small enough to near mama bear, or big enough to be on its own (and foolish enough to do something stupid).
