I don't think giant fat grizzlies can climb like that.. also I'd rather be 30 feet up in a tree and we both fall and maybe it gets hurt or I land on it. I would climb up as soon as I saw it break off a branch and try to defend myself.. I mean not good odds either way but maybe poke an eye out jam the stick down its mouth?
