There was too much foodborne illness associated with crock pots so they designed them to elevate the temperature rapidly to 170 to kill germs before switching to slow cook operation. Now they overcook everything and then keep it warm. Meat cooked to 170 is well done.
This was done either by regulation or as a result of lawsuit. I think Jeffrey Tucker wrote about this. No tender pot roast for you with a crock pot.

In that case, I recommend High Sierra showerheads. It's low-flow so it doesn't use up the hot water as fast, and it's basically a pressure washer nozzle so it has good power too. I've been using one for years and love it. Plus, it's made in the USA.
