Tipping culture has gotten way too fucking out of hand.

Archive: https://archive.today/z7q1U

From the post:

Tipping culture in the US appears to have become so extreme that some staff now think that customers who do not leave a gratuity are breaking the law.

At least, that's what some restaurant workers seem to think, judging by a viral video this week that shows a dramatic confrontation between employees and a customer. The clip has reignited a broader debate over whether tipping in America has spiraled out of control, raising questions about 'tipflation,' social pressure, and the expectations placed on diners. It shows the tense aftermath after a man allegedly left a restaurant without tipping his wait staff.

I have been saying this for over a decade but most of "Tech" work is actually just service industry at this point. At least that's how it feels based on how the mouth breathing morons act. A little kindness and not being a piece of shit goes a long way when talking to your IT people. It's not fucking hard.

Yes I agree. Remind them how the service you provide makes the difference between them being able to do their own work or not. Tipping is the least they can do when you save their asses. And they should definitely tip well when you show them that they fucked themselves up by being stupid.
