you can get 1 year crowns on ebay... then wait about 3 years to establish, and you can harvest the first week. mines are like 5 years old now i can harvest them full season. I get so much in the spring i have to give it away. I just eat them raw, so tender no need to cook them

I gotta add more mulch and fertilize them this year before snow.
i really dont do anything to them, once established you have to really try to kill them.

That's awesome. I have some family who's been growing them so I could probably just get some crowns from them rather than ebay. Do you grow yours in boxes so they don't overrun other things? That's what I would probably do.
