Planting plans were interrupted this year so I decided to let the first march of spring carry on unabated for a month.
I've been keen to the idea for awhile, but it's also prime time for crop settlement.
Since it's a fallow year for now I'm going with the 'no' mow approach, just cutting for accessibility. I've got a 3 foot dandelion doing some serious work.
The idea behind it is to foster insect growth, which is dependent on the traveling bird population to eat them. The keystone here I think is the beetle, they are always a good sign.
