I hate maintaining a lawn. It is so stupid. It costs money and time and provides nothing but "look, a green lawn". When we move I hope to have a much larger property. I will be seeding clover all over the damn place to crowd out the grass and to help with soil quality, pollinators, etc. I was not sure if there was a better sub for this so its here...

I have a yard. Not a ‘lawn’. Whatever grows there, grows. I mow it so it doesn’t look trashy. I have dandelions wild violets etc. It’s beautiful. Nothing spent except gas money. People up and down my road have lawn care services and spend lots of money to have the ‘perfect lawn’. Fuck ‘em.

Hear-hear.

We dug out edges out front and planted blueberry, fig, and a peach tree... apple trees tangentially, when we moved in. Fuck mowing, I'd rather reap a utilitarian 'yard' than treat useless turf.

Turned up 50% of usable back yard for raised beds.
