so I bought a garlic sampler a couple years ago. the varieties here are georgian crystal, russian red, and music. i save the largest cloves to replant in november. i’m sure to plant a 3-4 cloves around each fruit tree as they help keep insects and other pests at bay.
this was a great year for garlic. the bulbs seem to be getting bigger every year - partly because i save the biggest cloves to replant, but my soil condition keeps improving every year too with all the compost and manure i’ve been adding. feels good to make that progress and enjoy the fruits of that labor.
