On my father's property we had to drop a dead beech tree and now there's this open space. We don't want to put lawn there and there's a lot of rocks in one of the sections. We've got a v section of about 10x10 and I'd love to put some wild flowers there. Yes I know I can hand sew them but do they make a rollout sheet with embedded flowers in them that I could just water? This would obviously be for springtime.

I KNOW I've seen them at Lowe's and Home Depot, historically. A quick amazon search brings up a 5 foot strip of wild flowers also. So yes, they exist. Just gotta look. Probably have an easier time finding them closer to planting season

I just had a urge to ask then and there as I was standing right by the piece of land. I don't think I'll be back east this spring time to plant so my father could easily roll out the flower bed and water it. It's got to make sure they come back every year. What are those called annuals?

If you want them to come back, you need perennials, not annuals.

perennials are plants that will come back and regrow year after year, while annuals die off when temperatures get too cold and require you to plant new plants the following spring.

Yes I want them to come back every year. I planted a bunch of wildflowers this year and they stuck to two out of the four places. But I can't remember if they're annuals or perennials. I guess I'll find out next spring.

Yeah wild flowers are almost exclusively annuals

I think he could do it. He has a hard time bending over so I think if he just kind of throws it out there. If it's throwable I think that would work well.
