So I got rid of the snails with garlic and I now have aphids instead. They don't seem to mind garlic or soapy water. Have tried numerous things and had limited success with very strong nettle tea. But it's getting to be a hassle brewing a huge vat of nettle tea to pour over the plants once or twice a day.

Am considering ordering some ladybirds online, any reason I should not do this? Also, how I do I stop them fucking off to the neighbours instead of staying with me and eating my aphids? Will the nettle tea and remnants of garlic deter the ladybirds?

What are the aphids eating?

I just grow vegetables on my small property, and we already have lots of rose bushes around. I think having roses around (favorite aphid food) keeps the aphids away from my food and confined to the rose bush.

Buying lady bugs is okay and kinda fun but they all disperse very quickly and in a few days youll only see slightly elevated levels. Its not like they are gonna all stay on your property and open up a huge breeding center there.

Lady bugs like my artichoke plant from what I can tell. I think they like sleeping in all the cracks and ridges in the plant.

They turn plant juice and fiber into sugar. If your leaves look dirty that's the surgery aphid shit

Yeah they kinda stick to the roses and even still i dont get them that bad. I just blast them off the plant with my hose when they get out of hand. I grow veggies right near the roses but they dont bother the other stuff

Why are you getting dv'ed? Who did you piss off

They're eating my lupins, Lillies, everything except lavender and rosemary. I think I will purchase some ladybirds. Interesting, I never knew aphids liked roses- my neighbours have roses, so now it all makes sense.

Your neighbor is fueling the infestation

There's something about tobacco. Look for it. Also neem oil. Or you could go genocidal and use some chemical pesticides, but I guess you don't want this.

Apparently they don't like lavender so I just moved my lavender plants closer to the infestation

7 dust. Or if you want a natural method maybe red wasps i watch them hover by the aphid then grab it and fly away.
