Yeah bitch, a "bath" won't do these days. We want jets and heat and some bitches.
Bird baths end up gross and algae coated if theyre not maintained, which theyre usually not. I put out suet feeders in the winter, which attract a wide variety of birds. In the spring the fuckers nest under the overhang of my roof. Have to pull into the garage or i know theyll shit on my truck. Ive thought about knocking the nests down but theyve been using the same ones for years, it would kinda be a dick move.
I used to live in a swallow neighborhood, I know what you mean. The little fuckers made nests on top of the front door lights, shit and feathers everyday from April to June. Watching the little ones learn to fly at the beginning of summer was worth it though, the whole family perched around to cheer them on. By July most of them left and I could finally clean that shit up
It started out with robins, then their nests started being used by swallows and starlings. No shit ill get 3 species of bird using the same nests every year now, like theyre wajting in line, its retarded.
They need time to get used to it being there. I had one that sat unused for weeks, till it became the place for all the kool birds to hang out. Same with feeders. Be patient.
That was my thought at first too, but it's been over a month without any visits and the article pointed out several things wrong with the new bath. It's stoneware so the edges are too smooth and it's too big, leaving no room around it on the pedestal to perch.
I put a few large stones in it and tucked some short stakes under it as well. We'll see, otherwise I'm going back to the little plastic saucer they loved.
The stones should work. Put a feeder close to it, at least until they start using it.
We bought a birdbath that no one used. It was too deep. I was thinking about if I was a bird I would like a deep bath. But they like it a little more shallow
birds know faggots when they see them
Perhaps all of the birds in the neighborhood are named Karen...
