the biggest thing is letting them establish, dont take any first/second year third maybe one time after that you really have to try and kill them i am surprised they only said 2-3 inches... i have mine like almost 10 inches.. you will just have to mulch more to protect from last frost oh chances are you will get beetles, captain jacks dead bug will be your friend
