retainer/vassal

you can see the cope here on the wiki page pretty strongly

A black man whom the visitor [Valignano] sent to Nobunaga went to the house of Nobunaga's son after his death and was fighting for quite a long time, when a vassal of Akechi approached him and said, "Do not be afraid, give me that sword", so he gave him the sword. The vassal asked Akechi what should be done with the black man, and he said, "A black slave is an animal (bestial) and knows nothing, nor is he Japanese, so do not kill him, and place him in the custody at the cathedral of Padre in India."[19]

to which they added a note below...

There are no historical documents to show the true meaning of Mitsuhide's statement, and it is not known whether it was a sign of his discriminatory mindset or an expedient to save Yasuke's life.[19][31]

He never lived by the samurai code (didn't commit seppuku when honor demanded it, pitied by men around him, seen as a novelty, and used as a 'squire/servant/slave' which would be his parallels)

It takes some real creative license to elevate that nigger to a samurai

Anyways this is also kinda wrong compared to other accounts but a bit closer.

Yasuke was in the temple with Nobunaga when he performed seppuku. “There’s no record, but tradition holds it that [Yasuke] was the one who took Nobunaga’s head to save it from the enemy,” Lockley said. “If Akechi, the enemy, had gotten the head and he’d been able to hold up the head, he would have had a powerful symbol of legitimacy.” Lockley explained that an act like that would have given Akechi credibility as a ruler. After the attack on Nobunaga, Akechi did not get much support and was soon defeated in battle. “Yasuke, therefore, by escaping with the head, could have been seen and has been seen as changing Japanese history,” Lockley said.

Shortly after Nobunaga’s death, Yasuke joined Oda Nobutada, the son of Nobunaga, who was nearby. “At that point, [Yasuke] fights again, a second battle of the morning,” Lockley said. “Nobutada has 200 men, not 30 men, but of course Akechi still has 13,000 so that’s again, another foregone conclusion.” On the same day of June 21, 1582, Nobutada also performed seppuku. Lockley said that Yasuke was most likely left wounded on the battlefield. The last record of Yasuke is of the man being escorted by Akechi’s troops to a Jesuit mission house.

oh wow in 2 battles he immediately surrendered twice and was allowed to live. His only accomplishment was maybe delivering nobunagas head and that's historically debatable and many think it's just legend.

Anyways, claiming that dishonorable cowardly nigger a samurai is just a cope for the reality of black inferiority. How can a nigger w/ no honor be considered an honorable warrior? Many sources will claim he fought but when you look at the translated text there's no mention of that.

Nigger slave carries sword... ermagherd samurai.

There's no evidence he 'fought back' the troops that assassinated Nobunaga. That's purely an invention. He watched his master commit seppuku, delivered the head to his relatives(maybe but not likely), then proceeded to surrender again like the surrender monkey coward he is.
