With Steam and most importantly CCP Games (Icelandic developers of EVE Online) ending support for win7/8, it appears I have a choice of win10 or 11.

From what experience I have with windows 10 (work PCs and a laptop), I really dont like that OS.

So I'm curious about 11.. is it worse?

I'm not really considering linux an option, because developers obviously cater to the overwhelming market share for windows. Linux and MacOS are afterthoughts, and you have to keep in mind that some software won't run on the platforms.

Linux, bro. Don't reinstall ANYTHING Windows based. Linux fool!!!! Eve online works with Proton. The learning curve is not nearly as bad as people want you to think. ANd I get you "developers catering to Windows" argument, but unless you need a specific Adobe product, Linux can do EVERYTHING windows can.

Virtualization with direct access to the GPU is also possible.

Yeah but there are plenty of tutorials on the topic. It’s totally worth it.

Linux is not there for most people that just want to game. Proton is okay now but it can just be a pain in the ass layer that unfortunaly you dont have to deal with on Windows. And he is right some games and apps, flat out dont work.
