I mean it sorta does. Arcade is dead in the US, it's all emulating older shit on mame. A decade plus old x86 architecture will do better than most the current offerings pi have on retro shit.

you can do that on internet archive w/ the nointro collections or whatever they're called. They've made it slightly more complicated as you'll need a python script from github to dl them all at once. 22tb drives are even affordable these days. I bet up until the year 2003 will fit on less than half of one of those.
