When that went into effect back in 2021, it required PCs to meet standards outlined in the CEC bill. Manufacturers quickly adapted.

The stuff shown in the article is pretty old and were probably released before the bill went into effect, and didn't meet those standards.

What are you supposed to do if you need to perform CAD/rendering work?

Oh the (((cloud)))... got it...

The only difference between a high end gaming PC and a high end "workstation" PC is what you call it.

Actual headline:

High-end work PCs banned in six US states after California energy bill limits sales on performance PCs

Wouldn't want tech workers to maintain their lead. Must prevent technological capacity of the tech workforce.

It also exempts consoles and doesn't apply to computers that are upgraded after delivery.

It would be nice if the cost of components went down as a result.

Cost of a lot of components have been dropping, except for graphics cards. You can thank the Taiwanese but "israeli at heart" CEO of Nvidia for that. That smug leather jacket wearing faggot just keeps raising the prices of their cards every generation by ridiculous amounts, and the only other rival company (AMD) practically follows suit even though they're vastly behind. It's basically price fixing at this point.

California is going to go back to being the best state to live in after the "reset by blood" happens.
