How else are you going to experience open spaces in your 15-minute city?

limit of 10 minutes. Fake-world-related nausea after that

Ive owned a VR set for a long time. Its incredibly addictive at first. The first time I tried it I was just staring at the menu screen for a few minutes. The appeal wears off. The games are fun, but wont be nearly the same after a while, which I find is a good thing. VR completely closes you off from the world and you don't need that level of invasion in your life.

I tried my sons VR once... I won't go back to it. It 'pulled' on my brain in a very pleasing, dopamine rich way that only spells addiction... imo. I'm very wary of it in the future.

VR is great when done right. Most people wont be able to stomache fps type movement in VR without getting sick. Games like Half Life Alex and No Man Sky just leap you around while letting you walk around your space which keeps you from getting sick. That being said there is really not that many good games.

It is possible to train out the nausea you get with certain locomotion types. Definitely not to the point where anyone can play Project Cars in VR, but things like consuming ginger (candied, tea, or even raw if you can stand it) and stopping when nausea comes on can help to get your VR legs quicker.
