I guess this double meaning was created on purpose? There's probably a word for this kind of linguistic trickery.

The term you want is probably "Mondegreen" - it's a (usually unintentional) group of words that sound like something else. Think of songs where the words are run together to sound like a completely different phrase, such as "She has electric boobs, her mom does too!" or "There's a bathroom on the right."

There's also Clang Association, but that's considered more of a disorder than a wordplay.

Thanks, this might be the word I was looking for. Still suspect it was done on purpose here but couldn't find direct evidence.

Seems similar to 'misheard lyrics' which can be pretty hilarious: https://www.kissthisguy.com/bohemian-rhapsody-queen-misheard-song-961.htm

I'm sure it was done on purpose, but it's also an interesting coincidence that those words sound like that together.

The two examples I gave are misheard lyrics, I usually can't hear anything but the wrong lyrics these days.

What I found most interesting is how the brain works, sometimes. (Or that it sometimes works) Heard that phrase spoken many, many times but only yesterday, when watching a video, it finally clicked.

I never made it past the drawbridge.

With that whiney princess at the end, we always rooted for the dragon.

Do you like fish sticks?

Guess I'm not clever enough to parse the hidden meaning but I'll bite: I don't hate them. Edit: Oh I get it, I'm a kid. Very nice. :) Edit 2: Guess I should watch more South Park.

The reason they sound similar is by chance. Look up how the word slayer and lair came to be and you will see that a lot of words rhyme In English.

Maybe, but I'll stick to my "Clever naming by the creators" hypothesis. It's real in my mind. ;)

I know, right? They sometimes just pop up. :)
