That makes sense, but it could cause problems for a lot of folks who now will have to scrub everything they do for IP issues. And VTT sites that have gotten very popular might have to drop DnD altogether.
Although it seems like this'll backfire in the longrun. WotC puts out garbage on their own, it's the third party developers smd creators that have help DnD make a comeback over the past 20 years.
