I recently purchased a 4TB external drive for my Xbox One (finally) and am looking to expand my game library. I want a good zombie shootemup game that is scary without too many cut cinematic scenes.

Would this be Silent Hill, Resident Evil, or...? Also which version.

Thanks!

Edit: Two types of recommendations I'm looking for actually. Shootemup and story.

Zombies Ate my Neighbors is a good one. Older and you'll probably need an emulator. Not sure if the M$ Xbox One has that.

Callisto Protocol looks like it will be great when it comes out.

Hunt Showdown yo. So good.

Multiplayer only, it's PvE and PvP, you run in with the goal to kill a mutant boss thing randomly placed on a map, and compete with others to get it and get out alive. Lotsa zombies, beasts, etc. Super old westy vibe. Highly recommend

Walk around Kensington Philly dressed as a vampire hunter.

Resident evil 2 was my favorite back in the day. They may have updated it

Resident Evil is my favorite series. Resident Evil 2 and 3 are great survival horror games. Resident Evil 4-6 are awesome action games. Just playing through 6 now. It's better than I expected. 7 and Village are a differnent league though. I think 7 is available on the Xbone.

What are it's qualities in your mind?

I enjoy the wave-type area defense kind of games. You can pick difficult levels depending on how casually or not you want to play. Higher difficulties require good coordination with a strong team. Classes are all very different and all have really fun perks and weapons. You can feel extra OP and get immediately rekt all in the same game.

Level design is ok but there are a lot of maps. They keep putting out seasonal events. I haven't played much the last couple years but they were usually fun. Daily / weekly challenges that can keep things interesting if you get bored.

Drawbacks are lots of MTX type of weapon dlc and skins but you 100% don't need them to be good or enjoy the game.

In my experience the online community is pretty fun except at the very hardest difficulties. Those guys think it's srs bznss and will boot you if they don't like your class or loadout. Other than that, very fun. You can play game types that last hours or just play for 20min.

My all time favorite is Left for dead 2. Of course the game is well over 10 years old but if you can get mods and stuff for custom maps and campaigns it's a super fun game.

Story? I'd say Dead Space and Dead space 2 (2 is very good, doesn't require playing the first one). You'll have fun with that one~

This recommendation is single player, which might be what you're looking for

Shoot em up: Killing floor 2. It is basically a glorified minigame from that one COD series.

Days Gone is pretty fun. The story is just okay, and there's a little SJW bullshit it in, but it's a cheap diversion.
