It was never going to work. No one wants to pay endlessly for something they could just buy once and then play whenever they want.

Not to mention you're paying for an objectively worse experience because of the latency. And the load on your connection means you can't multitask and stream a movie or show while you game

Google doesn't make products because they want to corner market dominance, they do it to muddy the waters of available options. See Voat splitting into Poal, Talk, Rumble, Telegram, Signal, etc

Companies like Google were never end user oriented, so they didn't grow on customer service. Their actual customer is advertisers. End-user customer service is just an afterthought.

I see them more like kike instigators but as companies, they serve as nothing more than assholes poisoning the well, and causing mass carnage that will take decades to recover from
