I have a low-mid range LG FHD 75Hz IPS ultrawide that I traded for a nice Asus TUF 4k 28" 144Hz monitor. My 3060 doesn't have enough power for 4k but for FHD it is a beast. I can run any game ever made at 1080p ultra settings 75Hz easy. I was concerned about going from 4k to 1080p, especially on a bigger monitor. As it turns out its fine and I don't notice the difference at all in game. This LG actually has better color, I think its a better panel.
Now on to the ultrawide part.
Its really cool for gaming, the FOV increase is so neat. Its a big difference and games look really good in 21:9 and I have yet to find a game that doesn't support it. Even old games support ultrawide. If I had to choose between 28" 4k at 144Hz or 1080p at 75Hz ultrawide I would easily choose ultrawide.
I like it.
