I would too mostly because I really enjoyed Ultima Online. At least the earlier version of it.
I enjoyed UO as well, but don't get suckered in by your nostalgia. Richard Garriott is the new Peter Molyneux. Look at his game Shroud of the Avatar and how well it did to get an idea of what you can expect from this new MMO.
I've learned not to get my hopes up. I really don't think there will ever be a 'new UO'. The MMO player-base is too fractured and the snowflake culture would not allow for full looting and other important aspects of a proper risk/reward model.
Needs Raph Koster to really have the UO magic probably.
