Are you using Nvidia native image scaling? I find that makes a huge difference vs letting the monitor scale it (or windows). Since full screen is kind of broken (particularly alt-tab but I also had it hang a few times while messing with the settings) I've been setting the whole desktop to 1440p with NIS, then running WH2/WH3 in a window. At least you can easily replace your monitor if you want 1440p.
