It's been a while since I updated my Top Ten Favorite Games list. I may create another post for that but for now I'm just wondering everyone's favorite game?

Off the top of my head I can name Hollow Knight and Shadow of the Colossus. Hollow Knight was actually a nearly perfect game to me, even though it gets far too hard at the end. For this reason I've yet to beat all the content and doubt I ever will.

Gotta break it down between recent and all time.

Recent I mostly play mobile and PS4. So for PS4 Witcher 3, Borderlands 3 and maybe Horizon Zero Dawn. For mobile Clash Royale and Polytopia.

For all time type games, would have to go with Starcraft, Command and Conquer Generals and going back further track and field on Atari 2600, archon on C64 and maybe throw in Madden Football on SNES.

I think the original Zelda had the biggest impact on me. I was pretty young when I played it, and it was the first game I'd seen certain kinds of things happen in; so it's not really a fair comparison.

Things like game control and story telling have improved dramatically since then; but there are things I miss about the old style games. Dark Souls is a pretty good modern counterpart if you want to see a Zelda type game in modern form.

Dark Souls is more of an experience than a game. Atleast if you go in blind on the first one.

CounterStrike - Been playing since 1.6

I wish they'd make a portal 3, the portal series is great b/c of the community add ons etc even though it's all only worth one playthrough

Final Fantasy Tactics

SMB3 and SMB World

Those are ones that stand out at different times in my life as being my favorite. I mainly just play CSGO when I have time now but could do a much longer list if it's just games I've enjoyed

I tried to get into CounterStrike but never could. I play a decent amount of CoD though, which is basically the same thing.

High on my list is Minecraft even though I don’t play it anymore. Starcraft was awesome back in the day, Diablo 2, Spider-Man 2 ps2 era Really old Star Trek game called star fleet academy was awesome, I wish someone would remake it with multiplayer

I never liked the block style of Minecraft. That's one reason I like Terraria is die to the aesthetics.

I've never much been one for aesthetics myself, I'm very much function over form, or at least I used to be, I'm a bit more balanced now days. However that was never the reason I liked minecraft, I got big into modding for a while, I created all kinds of automated everything(always survival mode) created elevators simple computers using redstone, hell even once I managed to browse the internet within a minecraft multiplayer server and had the ability to put on youtube videos in the game for the players on my server that only played if you were close enough to the screen to hear them. I got pretty into it for a while.

In no particular order:

  • Earth and Beyond, it was an early 2000's MMO, the last game Westwood made before EA killed them. I still played on the private server remake until I moved and have to get onto satellite internet
  • Vanilla to Wrath WoW, I would love to jump into Classic when it comes out, but again, satellite internet
  • NexusTK, a Korean MMO from the mid to late 90's. It's still running even.
  • XCOM 1, I haven't tried 2, yet
  • Europa Universalis 3, jumped onto 4 when it came out, but they just got too crazy with the expansions, and I went back to 3
  • Mount and Blade: Warband, I even wrote a few mod overviews that are still circulating in the 4chan/v/ threads
  • Planetside 1, 2 was great until they started tweaking it. I haven't played 2 since they ported it over to the Playstation engine. With my internet, and their anti-lag measures, it sounds like I'd be a literal God, though
  • Quest 64, I boot up the emulator on this ever few years, and it's always just as great as the first time I played it
  • Morrowind, though I haven't played it in a long time. I need to get around to setting it up again

Honorable mentions:

  • Mario 64
  • Skyrim
  • Ragnarok Online
  • Phantasy Star Online

I like Terraria, LittleBigPlanet, and Spinnortality. I like the creativity of both Terraria and LBP. I also like the cuteness of LBP. I like Spinnortality's premise of being an evil CEO.

I like Terraria but it's too hard to find people to play with consistently. I always try to do a fresh run with someone and we never get too far before we stopped playing. I've built some sweet castles on there though.

Some of my favorite games are Watch Dogs, Battlefield 1, Worms Armageddon, Super Mario Maker, and the Super Smash Bros. series.

I probably have thousands of hours on Smash Bros Melee.

My all time favorite multi-player was Crysis. It had the best maps and the best game play of any FPS multi-player in MHO. My favorite puzzle games are Portal 1 and 2. Fallout New Vegas was another favorite game of mine.
