But as an infinite loop unless you buy it you're always gonna get slammed. Devs need to give everyone the content and then ask for tips towards the next one if they want.
I think it was cod4 I realised how shit map packs were because you keep fragmenting the fucking player base with every release.
Even grim dawn, a banging game, will not let you even join the base game if you have an expansion, and the second expansion can't join the first expansion, so it's like 3 games on multiplayer.
It's fucking retarded.
Grim Dawn it's such a cool game, but for some reason I still can't get into it. I'm not sure why, I guess I get bored. I made it to the first boss in the quest line and didn't proceed.
I've played the whole thing through Forgotten Gods x3 and maxed a character.
While it was fun there was a few things off about it, part of it may be brain damage from playing Path of Exile for years so the slower pace of movement and combat in GD didn't satisfy the artificially induced ADHD I suffer from thanks to POE.
Also once I played through the campaign on the highest difficultly I REALLY stopped caring about gear progression, yeah I could do shattered realm/crucible/boss farming to get a maxed gearset but there isn't a whole lot to actually make the grind worth it.
I just end up waiting for patches and monitor the forums. If paypigs are crying I know it is a good time to get back to the game. If the developer keeps making ridiculous shit I play alternate game modes or abandon the game entirely. Multiplayer hasn't been enjoyable for quite some time now because now everyone is tryhard super meta and the skill based matchmaking gets loaded with people who hit their ceiling and can't accept it and come down to grief which leads to extremely assymetrical games which are boring or unpleasant.
