They are masking the issue. It's about pay. Game companies are notorious for underpaying if not screwing developers. Now there is competition in their market who pay significantly more. People are heading to greener pastures.
They increased pay to compete and retention is up 50%. That right there tells you pay is the number one issue.
Even people who quit Ubisoft because they are woke won't admit it. A lot of big studios are woke, if you come out and denounce wokeness you won't find another job, no matter how good you are. The pay increase might get people to stay because dealing with the bs is worth it for the extra money. If Ubisoft backs off the woke we'll know that's the reason.
The industry in general has been heading woke. Doubly so for the gaming industry. I sincerely doubt wokeness is a factor.
I disagree. Top talent leaving means all the veterans which means not the newly hired gaggle of women. I highly suspect the top talent leaving had more to do with a bunch of women doing nothing productive, yet getting paid about the same as the veterans. Just imagine how bad it would be to have people over your shoulder saying things like the word redesign triggers them when you're doing a the work.
