I’ve been stuck in one town as a game dev for 30 years because my wife loves it here. Studios always liked to pretend they were splitting the atom. No working from home because it wasn’t secure. Everyone had to be in the studio. I was limited in my employment options to studios within driving distance of my home. I’m loving this COVID bullshit because it’s made the world my oyster. Companies that won’t adapt to a remote work option are doomed. Devs can now work anywhere in the world, in their pajamas. Company’s that won’t adapt are losing their staff.
