I unironically like that game, and actually own a copy for SNES. IIRC, you can buy the game on Steam and even get SNES repros from Wisdom Tree's own website.
It's bad, but more of an enjoyable memekind of bad. The awful textures usually do me in before the game levels themselves get too difficult.

For those of you who dont know, Basphemous is a really good metroidvania. Lots of fun, relatively challenging, with just a bit of farming (for coins) and unplayable without a guide as you are meant to make sense out of poetic dialogue such as "spill the blood of the incubator penitent one" and shit like that.

yeah, you can finish the game, but I find that some side missions are impossible without a guide. Like for example,there is one point where you need to walk in and out of a tree....and the guides for that went along the lines of "go forth pentinent one, where the time does not click and the fish shall fly above the hell fires"...I didnt make much sense of the poetry there.
