i want to ask just how difficult and expensive it is to fire something directly at the sun just so we dont ruin anything nice accidentally but at the same time it doesnt really matter it just needs to be going in the right general direction and gravity eventually takes care of itself. by the time it gets anywhere near im sure we will have invented massive solar system roombas to take care of it and we will have fucked off and deus vulted the rest of the known universe. you know someones gonna figure out how to put a hole in it or open a door or some dumb shit early anyway...

The most fuel-efficient way to get to the sun is to go out to around Jupiter's orbit, retrofire until orbital velocity is gone then you can rocket to the sun.

I think. Been a long time since math class.

Edit: video that explains it.

Kind of like the The Marching Morons - the story Idiocracy is based on. The part they didn't rip off ofr that movie was the main plot: To rid the world of "Morons" by tricking them into migrating to Venus. Except they didn't go to Venus, they just flew out of sight and then disposed of the passengers. The Twilight Zone "To Serve Man" probably borrowed a lot from this as well.
