Is that so? I’ve mostly played homebrew, so that’s news to me. In my games, the player can add animal parts to their body, like wings, horns, claws, etc. in addition to just morphing into an animal.

If you go by the rules, polymorph only allows transformation from animal to animal in toto, for a limited duration. Unwilling victims must save to resist.

But rules are meant to be broken, and the games I used to play had all kinds of house modifications as well.
