Spoke to someone who knows the lore a bit better than myself, and bags of holding can be left easily by any sentient thing inside. However, teleporting or tossing the fish into lava... pretty much an instant kill.

Living things can't survive in there though. A dragon is considered living.

True, but if it can escape, then keeping it there isn't possible. It could force it's way out. Also, a fish would have really low hp and begin losing them immediately as it can't breathe. The guy I spoke with suggested turning it into a bug or small animal and teleporting it either into lava or 200 feet in the air A small animal would make more sense as a bug may be able to fly
